Since a few days is java crashing in random intervals for no reason. I have only installed OptiFine and TooManyItems in my minecraft 1.4.6, and not minecraft, but java is crashing... I mean, the "stopped working" windows error. I have windows 8 pro. Could it have something to do with that? What can I do to fix these random crashes that occur every 20-30 minutes? Java 7 Update 10 x64 also on a x64 OS.
Having the same issue since I upgraded to Windows 8, Java 7 Update 10 crashes with Minecraft randomly about every 30 minutes (hard crash, "Java.exe has stopped working").
Java 6 Update 38 will randomly time out with a "write lock" as well, it does however not crash.
if you are having the same issue i would suggest you do what the post above you says.
It doesn't really let me, the script just opens minecraft.exe as "Player", you can't actually log in. Without being logged into a server, I can't really replicate the issue. Menus are fine you see.

Curse PremiumJava 6 Update 38 will randomly time out with a "write lock" as well, it does however not crash.
This is on a 64bit OS. Windows 8 Pro N x64.
