Alright, here is the deal: I was playing Minecraft on this computer. Then I unplugged my external USB drive, put the laptop in my backpack, moved it, and plugged everything back in again. Now I get the "Bad Video Card Drivers" error. This makes no sense. It didn't even turn off between one Minecraft session and the next. Here's what I know:
I rebooted the computer. No luck.
I re-installed the graphics drivers. They are up-to-date, using version 6.14.10.5218 of the Mobile Intel Express 965 Chipset Family. No luck.
I removed all the Minecraft files from "My Documents", had the whole thing download fresh. No luck.
Specs:
OS: Windows XP Service Pack 3
Graphics Card: Intel GMA X3100 Graphics Media Accelerator
Java Version: 1.7.0_09, Oracle Corporation
Mods: OptiFine D3 Lite for Minecraft 1.4.5 (yes, I removed it when I did the fresh install).
Other things you should know:
I installed a new audio driver this morning. However, Minecraft was running after the install in the afternoon.
I have other games that require OpenGL, they are running normally.
Error message:
Bad video card drivers!
-----------------------
Minecraft was unable to start because it failed to find an accelerated OpenGL mode.
This can usually be fixed by updating the video card drivers.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Just quickly FYI, I am a masters student in CompSci and I have CompTIA A+ certification, so I know my way around computers pretty well. I'm not saying this because I don't want help, but because I have already tried all of the "obvious solutions" (or, at least I think I have) and this error is boggling me. I would greatly appreciate any help.
Well, got it fixed. For anyone wondering, here's what I did:
Go onto the desktop, right click, select Properties.
Go into Settings > Advanced.
Go into Troubleshoot.
Set "Hardware acceleration" to the third option on the slider ("Disables all DirectDraw and Direct3D...").
No idea why this worked. Minecraft was running just fine before with different settings and suddenly refuses to run. Weird.
intel cards and minecraft dont play well together ( been like that for awhile)
I have a Intel Card 3100, well i play in a very unlikely playable FPS ( 6 -19).
Works, bad, but works.
And with errors xD

Thought I would update this thread...
Turned the Hardware Acceleration back to full again, since it was preventing another game from working, and now Minecraft again runs with Full Hardware Acceleration.
The moral of the story: if you are getting the "Bad Video Card Drivers" error and have already rebooted and re-installed your video card drivers, then just button mash system settings until Minecraft runs again.
Makes no sense! None whatsoever!
