First of all, let me apologise if this is in the wrong section. Let me know and I will move it. I wasn't too sure where this should go.
Okay - so the other day I found an amazing seed that I used in Tekkit to make a kingdom. I started building in Tekkit, but decided that I would much rather build in vanilla minecraft so that I can use texture packs (my little computer can't handle texture packs in Tekkit) and so that I can get people on to my server to help me out without using hamachi etc...
I've seen a couple of things on here that just suggest copying the world file in to the minecraft saves. I've done this, and every time I load the world in Minecraft it crashes. It comes up with: Exception while updating neighbours.
I'm not too sure how to post something as a spoiler, so I don't really want to post my crash report if someone can help me on this, but I can post it if necessary.
I've tried putting in the same seed into a new world in Minecraft, but I can't seem to find the same perfect spot that I found in Tekkit. The worlds look completely different despite the identical seed, so I guess that I haven't spawned in the same place.
Tekkit most likely has a world mod generation mod, so the seed will be different. Since there are new blocks that spawn in the Tekkit world, it won't work in normal Minecraft.
Tekkit and FTB have mods that totally change the terrain generation from the way vanilla minecraft does so even with the same seed you'll end up with different worlds. Honestly I'd just start over with a new world instead of trying to use the same one since tons of stuff will be missing since the mods that created them will no longer be there.
Thanks for your replies. I had only built two towers on either side of the drawbridge using only vanilla blocks (bricks, wood etc) so I thought it might transfer over. I didn't realise Tekkit modded the world as well.

Thanks anyway. I'll just keep building away.
