Hi. This is my first post, so if I accidentally break a rule I am sorry.

I've been playing Minecraft 1.4.5 using various HD texture packs and MCPatcher. Since the update, everything has been normal. But yesterday, suddenly I was getting that black screen after logging in. I looked around online and sifted through the forums and followed every single piece of advice I could. I have not changed anything about Minecraft or my computer in the time prior to the problem.

Now, I have completely reinstalled Minecraft and MC Patcher both, but I am still getting the black screen. Yes, I read all of the directions thoroughly. I have been playing Minecraft a long time and have not had any problems until this.

I use no mods other than texture packs. I am on a Windows 7.

Any help or guidance is appreciated. What I would really like is for someone to really spell out every step and not just a vague "delete this certain .jar or this folder" because chances are I've tried it.

And again, I read through the rules but if I'm in the wrong place or I'm breaking any rules I'm sorry.

What He said. Optifine is like MCpatcher but like 100 times better. It allows for boosts of up to 60 FPS if configured right. and it does have HD texture pack support.
