I tried installing Forge for Minecraft 1.4.2. Yes, I followed the instructions correctly, I deleted META-INF in the Minecraft.jar, I put the Forge files into the .jar, and, well... this is the error I get.

P.S. Why does 80% of today's good mods require Forge?! *Slams head into wall* I don't know why I have such a hard time installing this... i've always had trouble installing Forge for Minecraft.
EDIT - nevermind, I fixed it, an admin can delete this thread! But before one does so... still, can somebody please answer my question why most of today's HUGE mods require Forge (Aether, Terraria 3D or whatever it's called, etc.)
Forge is used, so mods work together better.
It allows ores from one mod to work in other mods, wood from new trees to work in all mods, etc.
It also allows complex mods to work with out editing base classes from minecarft.
I know you say you solved your problem, but make sure you aren't using modloaderMP with forge, you don't need it. Forge has that built in now. It causes problems if you have the old one in.
Also all the mods you had installed were for an older version, Minecraft 1.2.5 mods won't work with 1.4.2 minecraft.
