Ps: Before any flaming user begin a scandal about doing my stuff instead of attempting to play, I am "off-duty" when I have access to the computers here, not even in classroom. Also, I have no internet connection on home, so that's my only oportunity to have some "playin'".
All right, I'm on a Ubuntu 12.10 with full access to the hard drive, since I'm running it (booting from) my own pendrive, plus I've got MC working fine with 1.4.2 (it's the version which the server i play uses) , able to play single player without any problem, but I really wanted to do it online, but there is many "blocks" here releated to the connection, such as "DansGuardian". So when I put to multiplayer, any server appears as " Can't reach [Server]" , effect I'm sure that is the block action.
I understand that using Ubuntu/Linux makes things harder, like not being able to use "SpotFlux"; however, since every computer here uses it too, using the same OS from my booting drive makes me harder to "detect" (The other computers uses 11.04).
To avoid being blocked while browsing around, I've used proxies into Firefox, and later I began using a VPN connection with "SecurityKiss", which worked fine, but does not affect how MC and Java uses the internet.
Anybody have any idea on how to play MC online ? Remember, hard disk access and administration is not a problem, I can edit/install anything I want....
I tried today using a program called "Your-Freedom", worked fine on the browser again, but didn't made any effect on MC. Even tried editing the "net.properties" on my java directory to make it use the proxies for it, but no effect at all again.
I have no clue about how to get past the internet blocks, but could it be an in-game problem with that one specific server? Have you tried any other servers?
It's probably because your school blocks all ports except for a few. Unfortunately, the only reliable way I've found to circumvent this is to bring a phone in with a 3G connection and hotspot it so you can connect to it with your computer.
Yes, but the great question is.... how ?
Since editting the java settings to proxy connection does not work....
I don't see any tutorials or help for linux.... so that's why i am here....

Tried more servers, not only the one I used to play so...
