Sorry that i have no idea about minecraft anymore but thats because i am on windows 8 and its so different.
It will only work in Windows 98/ME compatibility mode which is kind of weird because it thinks i have 32 bit when i have 64 bit.Windows 95 will also work but crashes alot thinking minidumps aren't enabled(THEY ARE!!!).Please help, i wanted good experience with 64 bit java because i like far render distance.
minidumps aren't enabled
Isn't the error, that is just telling you that a portion of the error log isn't being out put. You need java developers software to get that portion of the error log, or a mac. It also isn't really need to figure out the problem.
What happens when you don't run in comparability mode?
Minecraft is not necessarily supported on Windows 8 yet. Notch is pretty mad.

This is false. Minecraft works just fine on Windows 8, the only thing that isn't done is certifying it, so that the little box doesn't pop up asking if you want to run it everytime. And that is also the portion of windows that notch objects to.
