SO im having a problem with installing the latest version of mcpatcher (1.4.2) so i installed the mc patcher for mac, and i made sure it was a zip file n' all. but i dont know where to go from there it just opens up a whole bunch of other file options like: apptodmg.sh, build.properties, build.xml, good.log etc...
i tried dragging it to the texture pack folder and seeing if that did anything but it didnt.
Something else to note is that the first time you patch minecraft with mcpatcher-(version).jar, minecraft might not work. But if you unpatch it and patch it again it should work. I don't know if that is a possible timing issue backing up your minecraft.jar and patching it at the same time, but the 2nd time I patched MC 1.4.2 with mcpatcher it ran fine and worked with Dokucraft HD textures in 64-bit Linux. It also worked fine when I later added Rei's MiniMap, so I could set waypoints.
If you want to add any mods that do not cooperate with mcpatcher, especially forge mods or mixed forge and other mods, unpatch minecraft and use MultiMC to set that up and to launch minecraft. That worked for me for Rei's MiniMap, a forge mod, and Dokucraft HD textures. When I accidentally ran minecraft directly, the mods were not there, some HD textures were incomplete, and water said "noob use mcpatcher", but when I then launched MC using MultiMC its setup and the HD textures still worked fine because it dynamically loads mods when launched.

Please help!
