I join for about one second, but then seem to crash and it gives me this:

Note I am using modloader and OptiFine_1.4.2_HD_U_A7. I'm not sure why it suddenly started doing this, though. Didn't do it yesterday.

Try logging in with vanilla client and see what happens. To do that backup your jar and force update
