Player/mob sprites not showing up in Minecraft Forge

Hello. I recently tried to play some mods using Minecraft forge. Everything seems to be working perfectly, except for the facts that I can't see any mob sprites or the player sprite except for a circle shadow underneath where the sprite would be. I am using these mods:

Millienare
Simpleguns
Adventure Kit

Help very much appreciated. Thanks!

from inside the minecraft folder.

Well I can see a few problems already.

First, Forge and McPatcher don't play well together. If you are using it to install mods, it sticks everything into the jar, and forge doesn't like that.

If you are using it for HD texture pack support, Optifine does much better with forge.
You can use MultiMC to easily install mods.

You'll get better results using the latest version of forge for 1.4.2 -
6.0.1.355: 11/02/2012 11:52:36 (changelog) (javadoc) * (src) * (universal) *

Finally, there wasn't even a mods folder, meaning this is a fresh install, or something else went very very wrong before.

You'll need to do a force update, or delete the bin folder (in the minecraft folder) to remove mcpatcher.

I linked the word optifine to the optifine thread, In my previous post.
