I was looking forward to this mod because of the Multi-core CPU support, but I've tried everything and it just won't work here... I keep getting a black screen after logging in to Minecraft. The only fix I found was to delete the Meta-inf folder, but I had done that already. I also tried deleting the whole .minecraft folder and installing only this mod (first without a mod manager, and then using mcpatcher) but still got the blackscreen.
So, does anyone know of a different fix I could try, or a similar mod that supports Multi-core CPUs? I really needed this mod to boost my FPS, specially in Jungles =/.
The meta-inf folder must be deleted before modifying minecraft.jar in any way.
Optifine does the patching for HD packs on it's own - if you use MCPatcher with it, Minecraft will crash.
Just do a force update and install Optifine on it's own. If you are planning to use any other mods, install ModLoader too.
It seems the problem was that I was using the OptiFine HD C6 Multi-core version, and I didn't read the part where it says it's for Minecraft 1.2.4 and 1.2.5 only. My bad. Now I'm using the latest Ultra version, which also supports multi-core CPUs, and everything is working properly. However, I still need to use MCPatcher for HD textures like Misa's; if I don't select the Custom Colors option, the water and other stuff will look weird.
