Hello. I am trying to force compatibility between Zeno's mod and Twilight Forest when their block id's overlap in the 160's range. The standard block id error is thrown defining id 163 as an issue, so I attempted to change that value in Zeno's mod .cfg file. For some unknown reason, the mod is not heeding any changes to the .cfg and no matter what I set the value in the file to, I get the same error with id 163 in conflict. As an experiment, I temporarily changed the 163 id in Twilight forest to another value, and the conflict was resolved. However, I have a world that uses Twilight forest, and that block id corresponds to the new wood types introduced, leaving me unable to change it and forcing me to rely solely on changes to the Zeno's mod .cfg file. My question is, is there a way to rectify the issue of a non responsive .cfg file for Zeno's mod?
Thank you for the recommendation. I have the id resolver ready to use if I need it, though I was curious about the manual method of resolving this conflict. Before I use a program (or mod) like this, I prefer to know what it is actually doing and do it myself at least once so I will be more likely to know when it is doing something I do not want it to do. I was wanting to be careful because I had a world that was already using several mods including Industrialcraft2 and Twilight Forest. Anyway, I guess I should have specified that I was curious what the manual process of resolving this issue with non responsive cfg file.
You seem to have the manual process right, but it is up to the mod author to correctly use the configuration files. If they don't (and it sounds like Zeno'd mod doesn't), then there's no way you can fix it. ID Resolver changes the mod's block IDs internally, so it doesn't matter what the config files say.
Thanks for your help. Seeing as the issue is on a deeper level than simple cfg files, I went ahead and used ID resolver and it worked just fine, though I was a little disappointed that I had to resort to it. Anyway, it is good to know that the error was most likely due to a non functional configuration file and not my own ignorance. I may take a look into the coding and see how it all works just for a hoot, but I should have a very good resource via search engines and the countless tutorials that must exist in this matter, so I don't want to bother you with asking anything about that. Thanks for taking the time to help me.
I did end up using the ID Resolver and it worked fine. I just was hoping to find a manual method around the problem so I could learn a little about how the game works.
