Can't get ModLoader working

Every time I have tried using ModLoader I do it correctly and I get this-
Updating Minecraft
Done Loading
Almost done loading bar
My folder seems to have 1,000+ items which is a little too much I think, help please?
(sorry I'm new and I can't seem to post the actual screenshot)

Are you using 1.3.2 or a snapshot/old version?
