I recently created a nether portal and traveled to the Nether without a problem I was a little concerned that the portal was winthin a couple of blocks of a lava see but I only wanted to gather some nether ore and glow stones at the time. Now any time I try and use the portal to go back, I am thrown out of the portal and end up about 5 blocks away from the portal. Thus I always end up in the lava sea and die...
Why is this happening and is there any thing outside of using a "flight" mod to get around this?
Update - So I decied to make another portal far enough away from my previous one and then once in the nether find my old exit point and shore up the area around it so I wouldn't end up falling into a sea of lava. After a while exploring the nether to find it, I build up the land around my nether portal (ensuring to cover the "drop point" I landed in after exiting the portal) and I travel back through to go back home. Only upon exit I am now about 15 blocks east and 25 blocks down from the location of my nether portal. I am buried inside the ground and had to quickly dig a whole before I died again.
Why is this happening and is there any thing outside of using a "flight" mod to get around this?
