I had the same thing happen to me. You will lose everything but on windows click start type. %appdata% Then drag your .minecraft folder into the recycling bin.Let me guess it happend while trying to instal the clay soldiers mod. Happend to me while I tried the minions mod.

The error is in the colorizer mod. If you are unable to fix it, you can do an 'Options' from the Launcher and select 'Force Update'.

That will redownload the client and not delete your saves.
