I'm using Dokucraft & I assume my minecraft is up to date. All of my water is this awful, mass of garbage that says "use the patcher noob". Where can I find this patcher, or do I need to find an updated version of my texture pack?
Point is is this: Minecraft does not support HD texture packs (any thing pack above 16x16 pixels per block). Dokucraft is 32x32, and the normal Minecraft game doesn't understand how to recognize that. McPatcher and Optifine will allow MC to recognize these texture packs, but I don't think either are updated for the latest snapshots.
Ok, so, I downloaded "MCPatcher 2.4.3 [Minecraft 1.3.2]" because that's the first thing to come up when I googled minecraft patcher. I opened it, clicked "Patch" and now my game is broken. Literally, I go to open it and it's just a black screen. Help?
ETA: Ok, so I hit Unpatch and my game starts again but the water is still broken.

Open the Minecraft launcher, hit Options then Force Update. This'll restore a working copy of the game.
MCPatcher likely didn't work because you already had other mods installed before using it. Have MCPatcher re-install these mods if so (after restoring a clean copy with Force Update).

Your problem is, I think, that you're on the snapshot. MCPatcher isn't set up to work on said snapshot. Thus, if you want to play with HD texture packs, you have to uninstall the...snapshot.

Mostly moved on. May check back a few times a year.

Is your MC 1.3.2?
