Hey, I downloaded MagicLauncher because minecraft needs more memory. But then I went into advanced and changed it to 4000, and when I tried to play it said this:
*** Starting Minecraft ***
Minecraft version: 1.3.2
Minecraft.jar: minecraft.jar
Base folder: C:\Users\Michael\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft
Java path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin\java
Memory: 4000 MB
LauncherPath: /C:/Users/Michael/Downloads/MagicLauncher_0.9.9.exe
Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.
Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.
Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not reserve enough space for object heap
I'm deeply confused, and I don't know what that means.
You don't have enough FREE RAM to launch it. Change it to 2048, tell me how that goes.
I tried that too, but it didn't work. I think it has something to do with Java, but I know I have enough RAM. I just got this PC and Minecraft is one of 2 games I have downloaded.
What was the error?
Do you have the correct version of java installed? (32 vs 64).
This is what it says:

Retired StaffThanks, it looks like the max is 1420.
But, I'm confused. How could I be using up this much RAM? I do have Skyrim installed. I know that requires alot. If I uninstall it, will it help?

Retired StaffSkyrim'll only do that if you're trying to run both games at the same time.
So, then if it's not RAM, then it's memory? I have almost a 1 TB, though.
Under Physical Memory, it says:
Total: 8159
Cached: 5636
Avalible: 6045
Free: 463

Retired StaffHDD is probably fine.
RAM is memory, BTW.
See how your free is only 463? That's the problem. Close any programs running, it should jump up.
Thanks, lol. But, the only thing I have running is Google Chrome, and Steam.

Retired StaffAlso, you probably have a bunch of programs running in the background, it helps to uninstall anything that you don't need, that starts automatically.
Basically, that's all you can do, close your programs.
So, basically, close all my Processes in Task manager? I have 1 tab open in chrome, this one.
Is there any process that isn't suppose to be closed? I don't want to screw anything up lol

Retired StaffThe best thing to do, is google each .exe in the process, and check to make sure it's ok to stop.
Ok, thanks so much for your help
