Hi i down loaded a mod called better dungeons, followed the tutorial and removed meta-inf file. (in 1 tutorial it said to not get rid of the file but keep the file meta-inf and get rid of the contents inside the file. not sure which is right ). I have downloaded better dungeons mod twice, not sure if i have overloaded the .jar file with too many files.
when i go to logon i get a black screen.
Tried launcher options (force update} then the following message came up, game location on disk /user/name/library application support/minecraft.
Then i tried login/ new update available clicked (yes & not now) I tried did both and this comes up.
error occurred (4):/users/name/library/application support/minecraft/bin/
we can't login to minecraft no. can anyone help? This is all on a macBook Pro.

Ok, completely delete your .minecraft folder (back up your saves first), download a new launcher, login and download minecraft. Put your mod files in minecraft.jar and completely delete meta.inf (not just the files inside, but the whole folder), then re log in to minecraft and tell me what happens.

we are a mum and dad trying to do this for our 10 yr old son. So you'll have to excuse us if we ask alot of questions. How do we go about backing up the saves? While we are both computer literate to a point this downloading mods and launchers etc confuses us lol
