Nothing Happens When I Drag a ZIP Into the Mods Folder.

When I start up the game, nothing happens. No crash, it's just the normal game with no mods. The mods folder is in the right spot, and the ZiP is in the mods folder, but the mod doesn't load up when I start Minecraft.

If it matters, I am on Mac.
