Hey, the Nvidia thing worked miracles! Now i'm getting fps like i used to with less laggier versions of Minecraft. Over 100 with Max Fps (Granted, it's a little lag spikey, but i'm sure optifine will fix that) and with Open GL i get smooth 80. :biggrin.gif:
I wanted to know something.
I've been playing minecraft for almost a year on this emachines mini tower so it's not that great....
but it would run it ... and make it playable most of the time
I recently installed optifine and it did improve my fps.......
BUT I noticed something about my pc that I had never EVER noticed, it has 64 bit windows 7
and I have java 32 bit
would this affect minecraft? shouldn't I have java 64 bit?

Well my waffle companion the java site tells you. I'm fairly certain it won't make much of a difference but if you meet the requirements I suggest trying it out. http://java.com/en/download/faq/java_win64bit.xml
Have you tried the google? Anyway after a grueling 3 whole minutes of restless resaerch i reas this, amybe it helps?
@Admiral indeed, have fun with your soon to be lagless minecraft
ya so that make no sense on catalyst control center, at least my version. but i appreciate the attempt. is that supposed to be a drop down menu or what?
Q. I have a Nvidia/ATI card and everything else runs fine except Minecraft. Huh?
Spoiler
Since minecraft runs on java, Nvidia nor ATI recognize minecraft as a game, just an everyday program. So it runs off your integrated graphics card instead.
I know other people have complained about this, but i am positively sure this is my problem being an ATI card user. I along with other ATI users cannot find a fix to this. I can run normal games like portal2 and TF2 just fine, but minecraft allways gives me a headache with its low FPS. I guess we ATI users are doomed with low FPS forever.
UPDATE: I asked for help on the #minecrafthelp IRC channel, and with the help of a few kind and knowledgeable users on there (GreyVulpine and UrsusMinor78), I discovered that my problem is RAM availability. Something is eating up almost all my RAM, but I can't figure out what... I think I'll take my laptop to an expert one of these days, see if they can find it.
Try installing ubuntu, nothing there to eat up all your ram
Meh, I'm in no mood to switch operating systems just for one game... even if that game is Minecraft xD Anyway, whatever is eating my RAM eats it over time. My free RAM actually goes down steadily from the moment I start up my computer, at the rate of about 5 MB per second. In other words, there's a huge memory leak somewhere.
EDIT: And all of that free memory seems to be going directly into "Cached" memory, which increases as free memory decreases.
Eh whatev, wubi makes it easy. so if you cant find what to fix and you cant even use your computer you could use ubuntu till you find the leak
Ok, new discovery: the RAM appears not to be the issue after all. Even with over 1.5 GB of RAM free, Minecraft is still running at 11-14 fps. There must be another problem somewhere :S
Make a new forum and ask. Other people can help A LOT more than me now. If you find the answer please pm me pn what the problem is and how to fix it.
About the Nividia cards, my MineCraft runs at about 35Fps with Optifine and some mods. Will doing the stuff with the Nividia control panel at the first post boost my FPS?
