The recovery process can be done easily within a day if the map isnt huge. Corrupt chunks are definitely a problem that will compound over time and cause more.

Looks like some bad chunks and a corrupt level.dat, but should be good to go now.

Unless there's a 'newer backup' of it somewhere... Probably not. It sounds like you may have a backup system problem or its saving to the wrong place.

My worlds don't appear at the initial screen. My world Home is the one i really want to get back. There's another world called Home Ec which isn't so important but I would like to get it back. Home has a big house (3 floors) and a bridge/tunnel connecting to a library. The library has 3 floors and a portal to the nether. There's a stair to the bedrock inside the house.
I'd really appreaciate that you help me. If you can please tell me what the problem was.

Hi,

When you have the time.. I have had the same problem. I was playing when the power went out and when I loaded Minecraft back up it wasn't displaying my world file, even though its' still on my computer. I sent my world through the website, but not sure if it went through.
So, just in case, here is a link to it.

Hey! When I open my world, it loads, then immediately crashes. I get "Saving Chunks" as soon as it opens. Website is down, so here is the link!

Hi! I've the same problem too! An electrodomestic problem cut the energy and mi PC restarts without save and now my world not appears in the inital screen.
Can you fix it? =/

I've got the "Saving Chunks" error: Every time I log in to this specific world it right away goes to a faded screen with only "Saving Chunks" written and after about a minute it goes to a black screen and never changes.

Yes, it appears my website is temporarily down. This happens on occasion.. Its a free host. >.> It should be up shortly. I also have a backup site: mcsaver.site50.net. I'll get working on these though.

Barumung: Both fixed! Some strange terrain generation problems that are like bad chunks. Are both maps nearly identical?

Hey there Voordal. I got your link and i downloaded the file. I put it into the minecraft folder in Library/Application Support/minecraft then i removed my saves folder and put it in another place. The game isn't working yet. I put the saves folder back in the minecraft folder and still didn't work. Please help me.

My world crashed after I tried making a portal to the normal world from the Nether -
I tried moving my character and deleting the portal but that did nothing for me =X

Anyways, I would greatly appreciate it if you could fix the file... I've put a LOT of time into it =O
