Hey, I posted my world3 about 2 weeks ago without hearing much. I don't want to rush, as you seem pretty busy. Just wondering if you even got it. Thanks alot for your hardwork!

Thanks alot though if you could figure out its issue! I've probably spent 200+ hours in that world, and I'd hate to lose it.

Huh! That's... Odd. Apparently during the 'fix' process, your world seed changed. That's why the land generation is acting strange.

Anyway, I went back and used your old upload, fixed it again, and verified that the seed remained the same. So you shouldn't see that problem anymore. If you want to re-upload your current one (if you've done work since you got it fixed), you can do that too, I can prune off the weird land, and fix the seed (I think!). Lemme know. In the meantime, here's the fixed-fixed one.

Hrm. What's the world name? Or if you want to pm me your email or something. Sometimes people's emails/world names are very different from the forum name so I may not recognize it.

Hullo. Nice to meet you all!

I have a question: I have a section of land (seemingly called a "chunk") that does not allow updates. Any objects layed down are suddenly back in inventory, and digging does not spawn inventory versions, and it resets pretty much instantly.

Tried restarting the server, checking for read-only in the maps. and so on, but not helping yet.

Any ideas? I'm not getting bad chunk messages in the multiplayer interface for the server. Just not allowing building or digging.

I'll keep looking. I'm just hoping is something simple I can fix myself.

Annnnd never mind!

Just figured it out. Seems the area with a spawn point in multiplay is sacrosanct. You have to turn on OP admin levels to edit it. Since it's the starting spawn point, I can see that.

I feel kinda silly not figuring that out earlier.

Hi, I have a world save that disappeared after the electric went off in a storm, I lost about 10hrs of work!
The folder was still their, but didn't showup in Minecraft after the power came back on. Hope you can fix it?

Nah, it was simply World3 before, but I just realized that was way generic to get lost among other worlds you work with. Heres my world on mediafire (Griffith's World): http://www.mediafire.com/?qksi1k024l4v7n7

Its having issues with just simply loading (as in, can't be found at all to load). I'd hate to lose my castle, and moat, and railways, and farms, and outlying outposts connected to unexplored dungeons.... sigh.. Anything you could do would be awesome! Thanks a ton!

Its a multiplayer map, so maybe you have to compile/etc it differently?

I believe you may need to change permissions or ops or something. I've seen that before and I believe it was fixed by opping yourself.

Jayjay. I'm normally a very patient person and rather abhor impatience on the average. You've already insulted me once on here regarding your map over something that wasn't even my responsibility. I let it go because I actually pride my work and wanted to make sure it was working correctly. If you would like to fix the problem yourself, you're welcome to use MCEdit and resolve this.

The issue at hand is that your world seed may have been lost when your level.dat was corrupted, and I'm trying to find a way around this. I wanted to exhaust my options and trying other tools before resorting to other means. Likely what I will need to do is simply extract your building and create a new map with the current seed to resolve it.

I work a full time job, a part time job, as well as this and a number of things. If you feel my work isn't done in a timely enough manner, I apologize. Sometimes I get them done quickly, sometimes not. Sometimes they take a bit more work and need some thinking to solve. Please try to understand this.
