I was troubleshooting a separate issue earlier and deleted my .minecraft folder to try to fix it. Since redownloading it, however, every time I open minecraft, it'll load up the launcher, and then just stop. There's no progress bar to suggest it's downloading any updates, nothing. The 'play' button stays grayed out and at the bottom it says 'Welcome, guest! Please log in.' etc. Leaving the launcher open for a while does nothing, neither does resetting my internet, deleting the .minecraft folder AGAIN, redownloading the .exe, restarting my laptop, nothing. I've tried googling this and I didn't really find anything that helped.
Could somebody please help me figure this out?
