My play button in the launcher is greyed out so is the logout button but above it it shows Welcome guest, please login. Ready to download & Play Minecraft 1.7.9. I am logged in and everything it is a premium account and i still cant figure out the issue. Please help!

I am having the same issue. The launcher does not give me an option to log in.
