If you have an AMD graphics card, and have installed the beta drivers, remove them and install the 13.12 stable release.
Otherwise, or if it still persists, navigate to Minecraft's local files: press Win+R, and in the window that appears, type %AppData%\.minecraft and click OK. Once there, delete the options file. Run Minecraft, and set Mipmap Levels to 0.
If yet it still persists, post a DxDiag log in spoiler tags, as shown: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1742903-obtaining-a-dxdiag-log/

I have an Intel HD 3000 GPU so the driver thing I've been hearing about doesn't pertain to me. I'll try deleting options and doing dxdiag

OmG!!! THANK YOU SOO MUCH!! MY MINECRAFT IS WORKING!!! YOUR THE BEST!!
I am also having the same problem with the exception that it only starts when i break two or more blocks at the same time. It will then stay invisible. When i have a texturepack it will then just make it pure black which is still making minecraft for me unplayable. I would really like some help. I have tried completely deleting my .minecraft folder and redownloaded it. I have tried updating my Java and have also went to Mojang's website to find a solution to the problem but they do not take questions.
