I started my minecraft launcher up yesterday and when I tried to go on a multiplayer server my game crashed, not a shock it does this sometimes, so I deleted my .minecraft file to fix it, but now when I try to load minecraft it needs to download 1.7.9, I know it takes awhile sometimes for it to download, but its been ten minutes or more and it hasn't finishes yet, why?
Did I do something that broke my minecraft? I tried deleting and redownloading my minecraft launcher and deleting the file to see if that helps, just checking my minecraft again now its almost done, or so it looks, but last time I had do redo this, it would get to about |.| this much or less and would stop loading.
it has a tiny bit left but its not gonna load up, its been almost 20 minutes and it hasn't started up, has this happened to anyone else, my internet is fine so that isn't the problem and its not my computer either.
im making this poster over time as it loads so, woah what? could not find main class? HEEEEY it did that last time too! but then when I was searching for help it fixed itself, I still need help incase this happens again or a way to prevent it, OH SEE NOW ITS WORKING, so can I have a way to prevent this from happening again?
From my understanding, downloading new versions always takes relatively long, and your internet could be an issue for this. I'm not saying it's broken, I'm saying it's slow. Now, there are three main issues that could be causing this.
-Did you first load Minecraft as a .RAR?
-Do you have the premium version of the game?
-Were you running any mods before you re-installed your .minecraft folder?
