I recently found my old saves from minecraft alpha and wanted to revisit them. Unfortunately they are .MINE files and the client no longer recognizes that extension. Is there a way to import the .MINE files so that the current version can use them?

I remembered that the launcher lets you pick which version to run, but it seems it still can't recognize .MINE files no matter which version I try to start it in
