I can download minecraft but when i tried to open it it won't open. I was hoping maybe someone out there knew why. I didn't see any other post similar to this so i made a new one. Hope this help some other people out there who have the same problem.

Yes i downloaded it from the official site and i have an account. But when i try to open it after download i don't get any message it just won't open. It won't even open and then close again it just don't open.
I'm assuming the launcher isn't opening when you double-click the icon, in which case you need to reinstall Java.
First, go to Programs and Features in Control Panel (Add and Remove Programs on XP). Uninstall everything that says Java in the name. Then, go to http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp to re-install Java.
