Hello, my neighbor is a Minecraft player too, and he keeps getting this message and doesn't know what to do. We tried a Java update, but that didn't fix it. Can anyone help? Thanks!

Rename the .minecraft folder to something like .minecraftold, then run the launcher to let it download the game again. To get at Minecraft's locally stored files using the launcher, start the launcher. Press Edit Profile, then Open Game Dir.
