I have been having problems with minecraft using to much of my cpu. This is causing it to lag incredibly bad.
How can I fix this. I will put my specs down below
Specs:
processor: AMD A6-4400M APU with Radeon HD Graphics
Ram: 16g of corsair vengeance ddr3
system type: 64x
Brand: Toshiba
Model #: C855D-S5110
it is also a laptop.
Thank you for your time
Why would you ever put 16GB of RAM in a laptop of that caliber? That APU is nowhere near capable of handling any workload that uses up 16GB of memory. Not that it really matters, but just thought I would point out that it's unnecessary. How much RAM are you giving to Minecraft exactly? If you are giving it anything other than the default, just stop and set it back to the default memory allocation. Your APU should be capable of playing Minecraft well enough, however it very well could need a lot of your available processing power to run well.

Nobody's perfect, so neither is Hannah Montana Linux, but it's pretty great.

They all suck. They just suck differently. Sort of like prostitutes.
i was giving it 6 gigs. I would only run skype when playing it to chat with friends. there are no viruses on it and it has done this before i upgraded to win 8.1 premium and i reset my comp. Also i couldnt have bought a better one since it was 300 brand new ya i could have saved up to get a used alienware but i was just testing see if i liked it. And i didnt pay any money for the ram since a friend gave it to me

Let minecraft allocate its own ram. Your problem is there.
