The OP wants to delete their .minecraft folder, as that is when the Minecraft client stores all of it's files. It's directory is located here: "~/Library/Application Support/minecraft" Just delete the entire folder labeled "minecraft". Keep in mind this will also delete all of your saves so be careful when deleting.
EDIT: Oh, you already tried this? I think I know why it didn't show up, that folder is hidden by default in Finder. Watch this video to learn how to make it visible: If that is too complicated for you, you can access the folder through "Resource Packs" in Minecraft settings.

1. Go to Finder
2. Press Shift + Command + G, which should bring up a box saying "Go to the folder"
3. Type ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft into the box and press go

If that's what's inside, then those are the only remaining Minecraft files on your system. Just delete the contents of the "minecraft" folder and that is it, just startup Minecraft and it will redownload the game files.
yes I tried but I deleted minecraft from application support and it didn't work it didn't appear
