I just purchased Minecraft for my 10 year old son to play on his computer. When I first purchased this game on Monday, it worked fine and he played it. He then rebooted his computer and Tuesday, the game wouldn't play. The game actually loads, and when he goes to play, the outline of the game loads, and he can hear the sound but the actual game content isn't there. You just see through the window to his desktop. I've turned off the Windows firewall, and he's running Avast AV. No other programs are running that would be blocking it.
As I mentioned, this is for my son, not me. I don't know anything about this game, am just trying to get it working for him. Thank you so much for any help anyone can provide.
I asked in the chatroom, and someone said to do this:
Windows Key +R (run) and type in %AppData% at the dialog then run it. Look for the .minecraft directory, and delete everything in there except the "saved" directory. Then try and run MineCraft again. This worked and Minecraft is working. In case anyone else has the same problems that I did, I'd suggest trying this.
Thanks!
