Just getting back into Minecraft again after a short break, but for some reason the game will not let me log in. I type in my username and password, and it always tells me it can't log on to Minecraft.net. Is there something going on that I can fix, or is this an issue on Mojang's side? Any help will be appreciated.Nevermind. Seems I needed to redownload the launcher as my old one would not work. My apologies, folks.

Yeah Mojang discontinued the legacy servers as long as the old launchers from Beta and Alpha. So you HAVE to use the newer one now, which is fine because you can play any version of Minecraft ever released.
