So, here's the deal: basically, my minecraft client won't connect to any servers. I have done my research, and know that it's not compatible with any server versions before 1.7.9, and am not trying to connect to anything outdated anyway. Specifically, I was trying to connect to the Hypixel server, but it doesn't really matter because I've tried with a bunch of different servers. Anyway, I've already enabled both Minecraft and Java on Windows Firewall, and it's already allowed on my router.
Basically, what I'm asking for is if anyone has had the same problem, and how did they fix it. Here is a list of things I have already done to try and fix it:
Disconnected and Reconnected to my Router
Uninistalled and ReinstalledMinecraft
Uninstalled and Reinstalled Java
Updated Java to version 7 update 55
Enabled Minecraft.exe in Windows Firewall
Enabled Java SE Binary in Windows Firewall
Turned off Windows Firewall (briefly)
Made my own server w/Hamachi to see if I could connect on my own network (I could)
Googled it
Looked on MC Forums
And, here I am now. Whenever I try to connect, I get this error message:
I am running on an ASUS S500C Touch-screen Laptop, if it helps.
