I know absolutely nothing about Minecraft other than my boys love it so forgive me if this is a stupid question. My son plays Minecraft on his laptop(he bought Minecraft about 6 months ago). It was working fine, then he had some issues with the laptop, which lead to Minecraft not always working properly. He tried to redownload some files(he now has multiple copies of a lot of files)and moved some things around. Needless to say, it messed up Minecraft.
My question is -- if he deletes everything and starts again, will he lose everything he did on Minecraft? He also downloaded Pixelmon. If he deletes and redownloads Pixelmon, will he lose all of his data there too? Thanks very much!

- Simple make an copy of the folder "SAVES" inside the Minecraft Folder and delete all. (be sure u have the copy of the SAVES Folder)
- Re download Minecraft.
- Re download and install Pixelmon.
- Copy the SAVES Folder back inside the Minecraft Folder.
Have fun with an nearly clean Minecraft.
P.s.: Inside the SAVES Folder are the worlds from minecraft are stored.

No Problem.
I only hope the problems don't came from the Pixelmon mod.
