I just can't get Minecraft to work no matter what I try. I tried to delete the game files and redownload, nothing changed. I tried to switch to different versions of oracle java and openjdk, nothing. I tried updating to the latest GPU drivers, and I got an increased framerate, but still crashes. I even tried updating LWJGL, and nothing happened still.
Whenever I play for longer than 40-60 mins, it freezes and I have to press ALT+F2, open terminal, and type: sudo killall java I have no idea why this happens, but when it does, I can't unlock my mouse because it is stuck in the Minecraft window. Apparently, once the game freezes, I'm still on the server and just standing still. My temps for CPU and GPU are fine and it only happens with Minecraft.
As for my machine, I have an FX 8350 processor, 16GB of 1866mhz RAM, and a GTX 780. I am running Ubuntu 14.04.
