I entered my world and inmediately turned it to LAN so my brother could join. First, severe lag attacked my computer and then, lots of chunks wouldn't load. I panicked and exited the client. Restarted it and couldn't even enter. I tried some fixes online and finally could enter by deleting all entities (I had like thousands of zombies everywhere).
Now, most of the chunk errors are gone, save one that's right in the middle of my base.............
I tried restarting, the region fix option in MC Edit, Chunkster (although apparently it doesn't work anymore), and now, I decided to go for Minecraft Region Fixer. Thing is, it gives me this error:
Welcome to Region Fixer! Scanning directory... Warning: No region files found in the "region" directory! Info: No nether dimension in the world directory. There are 0 region files and 1 player files in the world directory.

Tried watching some youtube tutorials but they seemed to have a different version of MCRF with different commands... So I'm pretty much running blind. Help?
U can try use older level.dat from an backup.
Or u use "NBTExplorer" to repair u level.dat or modify an level.dat from other world to us as u defect world.
U also can upload u world to an filehoster and i try to fix it for u.

I sent you a PM with the link to the world. I downloaded NBTExplorer but didn't quite know what to search or fix there...
Also, is it possible that the error might be that I tried to open a .dat file with the notepad and all .dat files can now be opened with the notepad? I find it weird because the size of the files also seems to have decreased when I did that.

Its not a problem that u Windows show that u can open .dat Files with Notepad. Its only an problem if u open an real .dat file with them and save.
