Hello people. I would like to know if I am dedicating RAM to my Minecraft correctly. When I get to the launcher, I click "Edit Profile" on the bottom left. I then go to "JVM Arguments". Then I put in the space, "-Xmx7G". I then click save. When I go into my survival world, I click F3 and look at the top right of my Minecraft window, and it says "used memory 5%". (Around) 460mb of 6371mb. It then says "Allocated memory: 10% (686mb)". How can I get my Minecraft use more of my memory? I may sound like an idiot if none of this makes sense. I apologize if I do.
minecraft uses the ram it needs, your have offered the game 7G but all it wants is the 460mb,m as said above, their is no need to allocate more than 1G unless your running mods and high res textures packs
Vanilla Minecraft doesn't need more than a 1g in many extreme cases.
Hell, adding more memory actually makes Java screw up
