Hey, I really need help, because this bug is messing up my MC experience horribly.
When I'm playing on my Survival world in Minecraft, after a while the game will start to glitch. This happens with my internet as well. I haven't downloaded anything that could be a virus, and I have scanned. Now, I don't really know how to explain the glitch, so here are a few screenshots:
I don't have any texture packs or mods. This is a completely vanilla world. I have no idea how to fix this, and I would very much appreciate it if someone could help. Thanks in advance.
When I updated to Windows 8.1, I had different video drivers installed, ones from Microsoft, to be specific. I downloaded a different video driver (ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200) because MInecraft wouldn't work with the default video driver. That was about 2 months ago. I doubt it could be the video driver, seeing as though I've never had problems up until now, but it could be a possibility. Here's the DxDiag info:
Name: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 Series
Manufacturer: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.
Chip Type: ATI display adapter (0x9712)
DAC Type: Internal DAC(400MHz)
Device Type: Full Display Device
Approx. Total Memory: 1916 MB
Current Display Mode: 1600 x 900 (32 bit) (60Hz)
Monitor: Generic PnP Monitor
It's starting to affect other windows, such as the Launcher.
Thanks I'll be sure to try it. By the way, the graphics problems are becoming more frequent and are much, much worse. For example, I went through a Nether Portal, and this is what I was greeted with:
It's getting WAY out of hand. I hope the post you referred me to will fix this.
Hm... I haven't gotten around to the installation because I wasn't having problems for a while. It was fine. Then, out of nowhere, this happens:
I am just as clueless as everyone else. I have the latest driver, updated and everything. These graphical problems are getting more severe each time I play. I don't have admin permission, seeing as though I forgot my administrator password, so I can't do the installation... I am so angry right now.
If the graphical glitches are effecting other windows outside of the game i would side with gerbil and say the card is either over heating or just plain dying.
As its an AMD you should have the Cataylst Control Center install, open it and goto the Performance tab, the AMD overdrive page should show the GPU temperature, what temperature does it show when the glitches are present?
