I messed up badly! I accidentally deleted one of my son's early worlds, one that was very cute and clever. I feel awful!
It's on Windows Vista. It's not in the saves folder or in the trash. So far I tried looking at 'properties' in 'roaming', but Vista doesn't have a 'previous views' tab. I don't see it in Windows History. I downloaded Recuva, but couldn't find the file in the .minecraft/saves path. There were several files with unspecified paths in the right time range, but they were overwritten. I should mention that this all happened within the last 3 hours. The last thing I tried was restoring the system to this 7:30 this morning.
Nothing works! Is the file really overwritten already?
It's kind of frustrating that I would have been successful if I had a different version of Windows.
Has anybody had success restoring deleted files on Vista? What else should I try?
Thank you so much for your help! I should add that my son is being super about this, but I feel like total ****.
