I was about to play minecraft when the game said my pixel format was not accelerated even though I had the latest version of Intel(R). I made a DxDiag report https://gist.github.com/anonymous/99d4ae412e4493c58d47 . What is the problem?
the difference is intels site is updated. microsofts site pretty much gives you a bare bones driver that everyone can work with. always remember its better to go to your manufacturers website to update.

the earth first! we can strip mine the rest of the universe after. click the up arrow if i helped.
Specifically, the drivers that Microsoft distributes
(they are labeled as such => "Card name: Intel(R) HD Graphics Family (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM 1.2)" )
do not include the Open GL support code because Microsoft wants everyone to use its proprietary Direct X graphics driver instead.
Since Minecraft uses Open GL in order to achieve multi-platform support the Microsoft drivers are insufficient.

As for the OP, you don't have the latest driver from Intel (which should work), you have the latest driver from Microsoft (which won't work).
