Some friends and I run plain unmodified minecraft server and clients. All was well until the 1.7.8 update. (Actually we didn't play for the last week, so issues may have started in 1.7.7.)
On logging in, I seem to drop through the floor into blackness. I don't suffocate thankfully, but I'm in blackness for about 2 minutes before it puts me back at the right level. Then it is glitchy and unresponsive. Pressure plates don't open doors, etc. My friend reported extreme glitchyness as well.
The server was restarted after installation. Everythign looks right, except it is acting like we are trying to play over a 14.4K modem.

Is anyone else having this issue?
Thanks.
Maybe u world got corrupted. Can u try (after backup the old one) a new world.
If the act same its something else. But if the new world work fine its u old world that have problem.
U can try to fix the old world with tools like "Minecraft-Region-Fixer" or MC-Edit.
Or u upload u world and we try to fix it for u.
This is resolved. I expected a bit of recalculating or data/file reorganization to be needed by the server, but apparently the amount of processing was substantial.
After several hours, performance returned essentially to normal.

I wood suggest u to use "Minecraft-Region-Fixer" on u world, to be sure there are no problems with them.
