My son was having issues logging in to MC on his laptop a few days ago and I was stumped as to the cause. Before I knew about the Heartbleed issues I tried multiple things to fix the issues. I updated Windows, ran virus and malware scans, checked to see if MC was blocked on my router and I even deleted the .Minecraft folder. I also synced my clock with a server on the net. When I downloaded the current launcher, 1.3.11, I still had the issues. Upon further digging I came across the Heartbleed info.
I have since changed my password multiple times and I still cannot log on to MC. The error I am getting is this: Sorry, but we couldnt connect to our servers. Please make sure that you are online and that Minecraft is not blocked (SocketTimeoutException: connect timed out)
I have seen similar threads but none of the posted solutions have worked for me.
Any help anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated.
I power cycled my modem and router. Then I uninstalled Java, deleted the .mineraft folder and any minecraft launchers I had downloaded. Then I restarted the laptop. Java told me it was up to date but I uninstalled it anyway. After the restart I reinstalled Java and downloaded the MC launcher. And that let me load up MC
I hope this can help other people.
Thank you all for the suggestions. You all helped me get an MC obsessed 8yr old off my back!
