Has anyone any idea what causes block lag and how to fix? I had absolutely no prob in version 1.5* and upgrading to the new version and the new launcher rendered unplayable when I can mine the same reappearing block 3 times before it breaks for good.
I'm sure I don't OMG U NEED NEW COMPUTER SO SORRY.
does it lag when you walk around or look around? if yes, you need better computer
if no, does sand or gravel fall down when you place it with nothing underneath? if it just floats there you're having local server lag (so just re-log)
Is this just the one world? Try creating a new world and see if the same occurs there.
If it does, see hi9580's above suggestion as it would be a sign of underpowered hardware.
If it doesn't, then the world may be corrupt, in which case it will need to be repaired.
Thanks, this occurs with no other lag. I can run around and place blocks fine. If I run into a block while mining it, I run into the space and then am forced out when it reappears. If I rapidly mine 3 or 4 blocks and just wait 2 or three may finally disappear for good.
Restarted on many new maps, 1 player, as before now I played minecraft offline alot. Dropped max mem from 1 gig to 350M and other stuff I've read about fixing lag issues doesn't work. If this was a performance issue, the whole game should lag as computer is doing more work for the block to regenerate.
I can even watch a tool take a notch of damage and then regain it as block reappears.

that is very strange, do you meet those requirements? to get your system specs go to run and type dxdiag and click ok

If it visually appears to be running fine, but blocks, etc. are reappearing, it may mean your processor isn't powerful enough to keep pace with your graphics card.
