Minecraft Forums

minecraft version 1.5.2 will run fine, however anything above that crashes. it should be noted that i have the latest nvidia driver (335.28) for geforce 9500 gt obtained from their site; and OpenGL Extentions Viewer shows that i have openGL version 3.3.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

i've been playing around with it for quite a few hours and i can't get it to play anything past 1.5.2 still.

You need to update your videocard/graphics card driver. If that doesn't help, use another computer or buy a new videocard. Minecraft updated their videocard support after 1.5.2. Maybe your computer is too old so that its videocard is too slow or it doesn't have one.

my graphics card is a geforce 9500 gt 512mb. it is weak, but it should at least load the game. it seems to be more of a software problem. i have the newest graphics driver available.

for anyone else struggling with this issue: i have fixed it. open your graphics control panel (nvidia for me) and turn "CUDA-GPU's" to "none".
