So, basically, my computer, when it runs Minecraft, it goes black. Like, the entire screen goes black. No cursor, no Minecraft, no nothing. Then the power icon on my computer fades out. It's really annoying because when it just shuts down out of the blue, I can lose some important documents. It's not like there's a warning or anything. Take for example, here's a scenario:
I'm playing Mineplex. Suddenly, my screen turns black, power icon fades out and the entire computer just shuts down. Then I have to boot it back up.
I would've let this problem slide if it doesn't occur that frequently. However, the problem is, it happens every half an hour or so. Another problem with this shutting-down frequency is, if I were recording a Minecraft Marathon or something - it would just treat the recording as if nothing happens. Also, yet another problem is when me and my friends are skyping. The call would just suddenly end.
I have a sneaking suspicion that Minecraft just takes up to much ram when it runs, so the computer gets overheated then shuts down by itself without prior warning.
My Minecraft also has Optifine, so if there is something to do with that and this problem, please tell me.
Thanks for your help - I really want to get back to playing Minecraft after a few months of tolerance from this very unique problem.
In case you were wondering - yes I searched up Google for solutions, but didn't find a problem that was identical to mine.
