Over the course of a few days I was getting an error "could not find or load main class net.minecraft.launchwrapper.launch" I searched on the internet and found little relief for this issue. So back to the basics.
I run a Windows 7 professional 64bit OS with AMD FX8350 and 16 gb Gskill RAM. I use Avast anti-virus software on this machine.
I tried various ways of getting the launcher to work with 1.6.4 all the way to 1.7.5. I made sure the latest Java was installed and had the latest launcher installed. I turned exceptions on Avast to see if Avast was blocking anything. When I did that it really didn't seem to change anything. Then I proceeded to run the launcher in Administer mode. Same results. Finally I ran compatibility mode to XP Service Pack 3 and finally it decided to work with 1.6.4.
So in the end, I figured, either my last effort was the fix or the entire combination was the fix, least for 1.6.4. I cannot get it to work for 1.7.5.
Anyone else experience this issue? And yes I did use various searching options and none matched really to what I am searching for.
