So I first noticed this problem when I installed Millenaire, so I .minecraft and re-installed, and I still have the problem. My minecraft refuses to play above 60 fps. Now someone might ask, "Well what's so bad about that?"
I will tell you:
First, let me tell you that I have allocated 4 of my 8 gb's of ram to minecraft, I have an Intel i5 4670k, and I have SLI gtx 660's. So I feel I should be running this game at something a little bit above 60.
Second, take a look at my current settings:
Also, my fps will drop somewhere between 20 - 40 peridically. I'm also curious as to what "unspecified" is in the profiler graph.
If anyone needs me to upload/post anything let me know.
My diagnosis will not be lengthy or great, but I would recommend turning Mipmap levels to 0.
From my understanding, "mipmapping" makes the textures of farther away blocks less detailed. This is to combat the pinwheel illusion you see when you look at a large plane of a single block with a "Complex" texture (i.e. Wooden planks, bricks, glowstone). For me, mipmapping does cause a small (5-10 fps) drop, so disabling it would be a good first step.
Also, I believe this belongs in the "Modified Client Support" forum, which can be found here.
I have solved the problem, it was my video card drivers that I had to mess around with. The reason I wanted it above 60 was because I, for some reason, experience fps drops periodically.
So yeah, I would be fine if it was a constant 60, but it drops to 30 every few minutes.

Also, I said I reinstalled. This is a clean unmodified version that this is happening.
EDIT: I also tried upping the RAM allocation in the Java Configuration itself, and that changed nothing.
