Alright, unless I'm seriously blind or missing a big step here, I can't figure out how to update to 1.7.5.

Supposedly the new launcher has always been able to auto-update, but it's been about 4 months since I've played any MC and thus haven't dealt with updating for a while. Is the force update button still around somewhere? I've tried re-downloading and re-installing, searching online, and I can't find any solution. Feeling like a dunce because this is probably something really simple that I'm missing. Maybe someone can shed some light on this?

Currently on 1.7.2. Windows 7.

To change your game to a different version, start the launcher. Select Edit Profile. In the "Use Version" dropdown menu, select the game version you want. Then click Save Profile.

Thanks for the reply... already tried that though. Then when I launch it, it says I'm on 1.7.5, but none of the new features/items are in the game.

If you take a look at the update notes on the first tab of the launcher, you'll see the change log. There are no new items that were added in 1.7.5.

I guess I meant any new items or features added after 1.7.2, cause that's how my game was appearing... anyway, just backed up my game and deleted everything/started fresh. Whatever it was, it's working now. Ta!
