I was just in one of my worlds in snapshot 14w11b, when I found that a button that I pushed stayed pushed. It wouldn't go out. I was running a /spreadplayers command behind the button, but nothing happened. I could replace the button and the button wasn't pushed in, but after replacing it for a bunch of times, when I placed it, it was already pushed. I had to wait a while before replacing the button for it go out. I placed a pressure plate and I couldn't push it down. This seems like server lag.
I was having extreme fps lag. I was having a 0.5 second lag spike ever second, and I even tried turning my computer off and on again. Because there was server lag, tried turning off my wifi to force Minecraft to run on the computer, and not a server (Minecraft started running on servers while in singleplayer in 1.7), but it still continued. Eventually, I was having so many lag spikes, that I was at 0 fps, and Minecraft ran out of memory. I loaded the world again, but the server lag was still there, but not the lag spikes. Please help me!
Minecraft ran out of memory usually indicates that something is hogging your computer's RAM. Try right clicking your taskbar at the bottom and open the Task Manager to see what's eating up your memory. If it's Minecraft, then try lowering the memory usage or install some mods such as Optifine.
I got a new computer about a week ago, and the only new things that I've added onto this is Java, Minecraft, Chrome, and Notepad ++, but I did move over the whole .minecraft file from my old computer to my new one, but still, I shouldn't be my computer's memory. I still have 657 GB of 698 GB. For the world that I am using, it needs to use the snapshot, so I can't install Optifine, or any other mods. I just tried pushing a button and everything in a different world, and it works fine. My world with the problem shouldn't lag the computer, because the world is completely made of air except for a few structures.

Might you have any mobs with an extreme "followRange" attribute? Might be worth doing a /kill command to remove them:
/kill @e[type=!Player]
If you are using a high "followRange", you'll need to reduce it to around 100. The server lag comes from the extreme number of blocks the mob is attempting to pathfind to. But that's only if this is the cause.
